Significance
Durga Ashtami is a day of Devi worship through pujan, shringar, offerings and paath.
For many families, it is also the day of Kanya Pujan, when kumaris or kanyas are welcomed and worshipped as manifestations of Devi, followed by bhojan and dakshina.
