Why this Pujan, specifically
Kumkum thali
Four inches, in metal — the piece the tilak is set on.
Roli, akshat and mishri
Measured for the day rather than bought by weight.
A diya and wicks
For the aarti that follows the tilak.
Significance
On Bhai Dooj a sister applies tilak to her brother and offers him something sweet, and he gives her a token in return. It is the last day of the Deepawali week.
The set holds what the tilak asks for — roli and akshat for the mark, a lamp for the aarti that follows, and mishri to offer after.
How to use
1. Set the thali with roli, akshat and mishri, and light the diya. 2. Apply the tilak, and press akshat over it. 3. Perform the aarti, then offer the mishri.
